He had substantially similar stats with App in his first year. It isn't like we all didn't know that he could ball out, now the rest of the world is finding that out.

Yes, but think even many of us did not know how good he would be playing Power schools each week. So far, he has exceeded all expectations.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
I think we all figured he would be improved with better coaching but he certainly has done even better than anyone could expect. I figured he would struggle a little early and by November would be good. Their offense is so stacked that he is probably just the 5th best players on that side of the ball. Between RBs Desean Bishop and Star Thomas, WRs Chris Brazzell, Mike Matthews, and Braylon Staley, and TE Miles Kitselman they have a lot of weapons for Joey to use. It would not shock me if there are 3-4 top 50 picks on their offense.

Better receivers probably make it easier being quarterback. Dropped balls can make a quarterback and a team look pretty bad.

He does have some good receivers, but UT was #2 in the nation in dropped passes as of last week.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 11:53 pmBetter receivers probably make it easier being quarterback. Dropped balls can make a quarterback and a team look pretty bad.

Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
Where did you see #2 from a legit media source? I can't find a list online. App has to be way up there. We have had at least 20 drops as a team.appvette wrote: ↑Mon Oct 27, 2025 8:52 amHe does have some good receivers, but UT was #2 in the nation in dropped passes as of last week.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 11:53 pmBetter receivers probably make it easier being quarterback. With an SEC caliber OL his last year at App he'd have put up some similar numbers here.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 11:53 pmBetter receivers probably make it easier being quarterback. Dropped balls can make a quarterback and a team look pretty bad.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.
